I forgot to mention. LMFF has been amazing.

DRESS UP AW 11

I love this collection. I'm not a floral person, but every other piece I would wear religiously. The colours and that Annie Hall feel is so appealing to me that I'd go out and buy it in it's entirety if I was equipped to do so.

YES

DEERHUNTER/PASS OUT

Deerhunter was amazing. Like, fucking amazing. One of the best things I've ever had the privilege to see live. I stood at the barricade with a smile from ear to ear and stared in awe of the noise that they were making. Their two hour set was entirely perfect and their encore just as fantastic. At least what I remember of the encore. The whole experience was bizarre and new. It wasn't like other bands I'd gone to see. In the noise it was like there was hollow silence that made me feel that none of it was real. During the support band I stood facing to the left up at the darkened window where Brad Cox and Lockett Pundt stood peering through. "Holy fuck, holy fuck, holy fuck" was more of less my train of thought for the next three hours. Opening their set with a strangely hilarious Batman/Batmen settiling criminals/Melbourne related joke, their set began and was glorious. Starting with Desire Lines was more or less perfect (more), seeing that musical quality in person "Holy fuck, holy fuck, holy fuck". Nearly all of their twelve songs were extended by minutes and minutes. I can't explain my confusion when they came out for an encore, I thought you're not this lame, what are you doing? But that thought was fighting a pretty overwhelming need for them to keep going. Then I ruined the night.  I (due to sheer stupidity) hadn't had nearly enough to drink that day and began suffering really bad dehydration, I was nauseous for at least 5 minutes before I started blacking out and tingling. I moved away from the front of the crowd to find Ash and began collapsing and gagging in his arms. It felt like I was being choked and I was covered in sweat. My legs kept going from underneath me and I was drifting between a conscious and unconscious state. As all the people around me tried to get the attention of the stupid bouncers up the front, who were far too cool and far too interested in standing their with their arms crossed, Vito remembered Bowie's drink bottle and they got it in my mouth. Just that first bit of water fixed everything. Sure I was still nauseous and my whole body was tingling and numb (which made it a bit hard to exit the venue once she show had finished). All in all, it was fucking scary, but thanks Ash/Vito/Bowie for finding me water and not letting me get trampled. I was pretty much healed when being within a metre of Blonde Redhead, who were casually leaning against a pole in the venue, being so fucking cool, upon exit. I wish I had have seen them two nights earlier.

DEERHUNTER

I hope he'll wear a dress on stage.

EXCITED

I'm excited about seeing I Heart Hiroshima tonigth for 15 dollars at the Northcote Social Club. And about going to a friend of a friends "I'm moving overseas so have all my amazing clothes really cheap" sale on Sunday. I am not excited about seeing my Dad on Tuesday night. I am excited about seeing Deerhunter on Wednesday night. I am excited about Grindhouse with Vito and Bowie and all their clan. Excited to go skateboarding and hurt myself. Excited to paint my bike and fix on the brooks seat, handle bar grips, old wooden crate and bullet bike light I found really cheap. I'm excited to go home next weekend and make iced tea and read and draw and finish my project with Ash. Excited for Valentines Day. I'm excited to go to Shepp with Ash to see little baby Layne walking! And I don't know if I am excited about going back to uni - but I did buy two nice erasers and a small metal sharpener yesterday, which made me feel a bit better about it.

FEBRUARY SLOW DOWN

I don't know how I feel about going back to uni in four weeks time. I don't think I feel good about it. But I am still finding security in the thought that I might try harder to stay on top of things this year. We'll see how I cope switching from this to that. We'll see. P.s. Lover want me to do an internship with them at the end of this year. Which is sick. Oh yeah, and I like this bag. Heaps.

The Orbweavers

The other night I saw this band called The Orbweavers, and to say the least, they are fucking cool.

Their debut album 'Graphite and Diamonds', from the samples I've heard on their website, should be just as cool and I can't wait to get my hands on a copy.

BIKE

After finally finishing the surfboard I made in highschool, I've decided to begin and complete a fix up of my old vintage bike. I've decided I'm in need of a black shopping bike. Wicker/wooden baskets, chrome bullet lights, and an old Brooke's seat - the current shopping list.

PROJECT

I've recently been made aware of my strange fascination with interiors. Would it be worth changing to Interior Design just so I can flick through magazines full of beautiful spaces all day long? I know I'd fail the course, but I'd get an extensive collection of inspiration. I can't get enough of white floor boards, old post bikes, metal chairs and skateboards. Make me feel so darn good.

CAT POWER FRIDAY

My boyfriend got me tickets to Cat Power for Christmas. I am finally going to enjoy the beauty of her music in the flesh. The beauty of her. And holy fuck, am I excited.
